The fine print

Terms of Hire and Services

Version 2.2 · 9 October 2026

These terms apply to every camera Site Cam Security hires to you. Your proposal sets out the cameras, the site, the hire period and the price. These terms cover everything else.

1. About these terms

1.1"We", "us" and "our" mean Site Cam Security Pty Ltd, ACN 700 519 393, ABN 95 700 519 393. "You" means the customer named in the proposal.

1.2The "proposal" is our written quote or proposal for your site. The "equipment" is everything we supply on hire, including cameras, poles, portable bases, solar panels, batteries, SIM cards, signs and fittings.

1.3You accept these terms when you do any one of these things:

1.4If the proposal and these terms say different things, the proposal applies.

1.5Your own purchase order terms or supplier terms do not apply unless a director of Site Cam Security agrees to them in writing.

1.6The person who accepts the proposal confirms they have authority to do so for the customer.

1.7In these terms:

2. What you get

2.1We supply, install and remove the equipment listed in the proposal and fix faults under clause 10.

2.2Each camera unit is solar powered and connects over the mobile network. Hire includes the SIM card, mobile data for normal use, the phone app and the surveillance signs we supply.

2.3Live view. Your app users can view each camera live in the app at any time of day, whether it is armed or disarmed. Live view depends on mobile coverage and battery charge and is subject to clauses 8.10 and 9.5.

2.4Recording. The cameras do not record continuously. A camera records when an alarm is triggered while it is armed. Do not rely on it to record at any other time.

2.5Monitoring. Where the proposal includes monitoring, alarms raised during the armed hours are sent to a licensed monitoring centre. Clause 8 explains what the monitoring centre does.

2.6What the service is not. The equipment is a deterrent and a detection tool. It is not a guard service, a patrol service or insurance. We do not promise that it will prevent theft, damage or trespass, or that it will detect or record every event.

2.7You should keep your own insurance for your site, plant, tools and materials.

3. Our subcontractors

3.1We use licensed subcontractors to deliver parts of the service. Their names and private security licence numbers are set out in your proposal. That is our written notice of who they are.

WorkWho does it
Installation, servicing, relocation and removalA licensed installation subcontractor
Alarm monitoringA licensed monitoring centre

3.2By accepting the proposal in writing you consent to us using the subcontractors named in it at your site. If you have not accepted in writing, we will ask you to confirm your consent by email before we install.

3.3If we need to use a different subcontractor, we will give you its name and licence number in writing at least one business day before it starts work at your site and ask for your written consent. That subcontractor does not start until you give it.

3.4On request we will give you the name and licence number of each technician attending your site.

3.5Using a subcontractor does not change what we owe you under these terms.

4. Hire period

4.1Hire of each unit starts on the day it is installed.

4.2The minimum hire for each unit is 8 weeks, unless the proposal says otherwise.

4.3After the minimum hire, hire continues day to day until it is ended under these terms. It is billed in 4-week periods.

4.4Ending the hire. To end the hire of a unit, email admin@sitecamsecurity.com.au at least 7 days ahead. We will confirm a removal date in writing. It will be the date you ask for if that is at least 7 days away. Otherwise it will be the next day we can attend, no later than 7 days after your notice.

4.5Hire is charged up to and including the removal date we confirm. If we are late for our own reasons, hire still stops on that date. Clauses 7, 10 and 13 apply until we collect the equipment.

4.6If we cannot remove a unit on the confirmed date because of the site, such as no access, a locked gate or an unsafe area, hire continues until we can remove it and the call-out fee in the Schedule applies.

4.7If you end the hire of a unit before its minimum hire is up, the rest of the minimum hire is still payable, unless you ended because of our serious breach.

4.8We refund, credit or cancel any hire charged for days after the removal date, apart from minimum hire that is payable.

4.9If you cancel after paying the first invoice but before we install, we refund it less any costs we have already incurred for your job.

5. Prices and payment

5.1Prices are in the proposal and the Schedule. All prices exclude GST unless we say otherwise.

5.2First invoice. When you accept the proposal we invoice installation + dismantling for each unit and the first 8 weeks of hire. This invoice must be paid before we install.

5.3Ongoing hire. After the first 8 weeks, hire is invoiced in 4-week periods. We send each invoice 30 days before the period it covers starts.

5.4Ongoing invoices are due:

5.5An approved account is a customer we have approved in writing for 30-day terms. We may withdraw approval by written notice if an invoice is overdue.

5.6Pay by EFT to the account on the invoice. We will never change our bank details by email. If you receive a request like that, call us on 1300 637 299 before paying.

5.7If you think an invoice is wrong, tell us in writing within 7 days of the invoice date and pay the part that is not in dispute by the due date.

5.8Late payment. We may charge interest on overdue amounts at 10% a year, calculated daily from the due date until paid.

5.9Suspension. If an invoice that is not in dispute under clause 5.7 is more than 7 days overdue, we may give you written notice. If it is still unpaid 5 business days after that notice, we may suspend monitoring and app access for the site until it is paid.

While services are suspended:

Services restart once the overdue amount is paid, normally within 1 business day. If the invoice is still unpaid 14 days after we suspend services, we may end the hire and remove the equipment under clause 12.3.

5.10Price changes. Prices in the proposal and the charges in the Schedule are fixed for the hire period stated in the proposal or, if none is stated, for the minimum hire. If hire continues past that period we may change them by giving you at least 30 days' written notice. You may end the hire before the change starts without any early ending charge.

5.11Extra charges. Call-out, relocation and replacement charges are in the Schedule. Anything not in the proposal or the Schedule is quoted before we do it.

6. Site and installation

6.1Before we install, you must give us:

6.2Booking. We need at least 5 business days to book an install, counted from when you have accepted the proposal, paid the first invoice and sent the details in clause 6.1.

6.3Camera positions. We recommend positions from what you tell us and what we can see. You approve the final positions on the plan or on site. Our recommendation is not a promise that every part of the site is covered. Each camera has a limited view and detection range, so some areas will not be covered.

6.4In-ground poles. Before we dig, you must check for underground services at each position you approve and give us the results. This includes a Before You Dig Australia enquiry where one is needed. If a service is struck at a position you approved, you are responsible for the cost, except to the extent we or our installer were negligent.

6.5Portable bases. A portable base needs firm, level ground that is clear of vehicle and plant movement. You must keep it that way for the hire period.

6.6Access and safety. You must give us and our installer safe access to install, service and remove the equipment and tell us about site hazards. We follow your reasonable site rules and inductions.

6.7If we attend and cannot do the work because of the site, the call-out fee in the Schedule applies.

6.8Permission. You confirm you have the right to have the equipment installed at the site, including any consent needed from the land owner or principal contractor.

6.9At removal we take out the pole and backfill the hole. Any other repair of the surface is yours.

7. Looking after the cameras

7.1Do not move them. You and your people must not move, lower, tilt, turn, adjust, open, disconnect, cover, paint, repair or attach anything to the equipment. This includes portable bases and solar panels. If you or your people move a unit, you are responsible for any injury or damage it causes until we have reset it.

7.2Only we or our installer may move or adjust the equipment. To have a unit moved, email us at least 5 business days ahead with the camera number and the new position. The relocation fee in the Schedule applies.

7.3Keep them clean and clear. Day-to-day care of each unit is your job. That means:

7.4Clean only from the ground, using a soft brush or cloth on an extension pole. Do not use a ladder, lift, vehicle or plant to reach a unit. Do not use a pressure washer or chemicals. Cleaning is done under your own site safety rules. If a unit needs cleaning that you cannot do safely, book us and the call-out fee in the Schedule applies.

7.5Check them. Look at your cameras in the app regularly. Tell us straight away if a view is blurred, blocked or different from how it was set, if a camera is offline or if a unit has been knocked, moved or damaged.

7.6Tell us before you build, stack, park or change anything that could block a camera's view or shade its solar panel.

7.7Not a fault. A unit does not have a fault if it goes offline, loses charge or gives a poor image because of dirt, cobwebs, shade or an obstruction that arises after installation, or because you or your people moved, knocked or interfered with it. Hire continues and we are not liable for anything missed as a result.

7.8Call-out fee. If we attend because of something in clause 7.7, you pay the call-out fee in the Schedule for each visit, plus any parts and repairs.

8. Arming and monitoring

8.1Armed hours. Each camera arms and disarms on the schedule in the proposal or your booking details. The siren and strobe, app alerts and monitoring work only while the camera is armed. Clause 2.4 covers recording.

8.2Changing the schedule. Email changes to admin@sitecamsecurity.com.au at least 24 hours before they start. We make changes in business hours only, so allow for weekends and public holidays. Changes must come from one of your nominated contacts. A change takes effect when we confirm it.

8.3Disarming in the app. Your app users can disarm a camera in the app. While a camera is disarmed there is no siren, no app alert and no call from the monitoring centre. Do not rely on a disarmed camera to record.

8.4Re-arming is your responsibility. A camera disarmed in the app stays disarmed until you or your app users turn it back on. Do not rely on the schedule to re-arm it. We are not liable for any event that is not detected, recorded or responded to because a camera was disarmed by you or your app users or was not re-armed.

8.5People on site in armed hours. If your people will be on site during armed hours, change the schedule or disarm first. If false alarms keep happening we will ask you to change the schedule.

8.6What the monitoring centre does. When an alarm is received in armed hours, the monitoring centre's process is for an operator to review it and follow the response instructions for your site. This normally means calling your nominated contacts in order. Police are contacted where that is in line with police policy, such as when an offence in progress is verified.

8.7What is not included. Monitoring does not include patrols, guards or anyone attending the site unless the proposal says so. If you or your contacts ask for a patrol or other attendance, the cost is yours. We do not promise that police or anyone else will attend, or how quickly.

8.8When monitoring starts. Hire runs from installation. A site is monitored only from the time we confirm in writing that monitoring is live. That needs your monitoring details and a successful test with the monitoring centre. Until then the cameras, siren and app alerts work but alarms are not sent to the monitoring centre.

8.9Your contacts. You must give us at least two contacts who can be reached during armed hours and keep their details up to date. Email us any changes. If your contacts cannot be reached, the operator can only follow the instructions on file.

8.10App users. Up to four people per site can have app access unless we agree otherwise. Each person uses their own Hik-Connect account. You are responsible for who you ask us to add and for telling us when someone should be removed. Live view may be limited to one viewer at a time.

8.11Networks. Alarms and video travel over mobile networks and services run by others. If those fail, an alarm may not reach the monitoring centre or your phone.

9. Footage and privacy

9.1Where footage is kept. Recordings are stored on the unit itself. Depending on how active the site is, a recording is usually kept for 4 to 7 days before it is overwritten. On a very busy site it can be less.

9.2Download what you need. You can download recordings in the app. Do it as soon as you can after an incident. Once a recording is overwritten it cannot be recovered.

9.3We do not keep a copy of your footage for you and we do not promise that any event will be recorded or kept.

9.4If you need help getting footage, email admin@sitecamsecurity.com.au with the camera number, date, time and what happened. We will help where the recording still exists.

9.5Data. Live view is for checking in, not continuous streaming. Each unit has a data allowance of 8GB a month, so do not leave the app open all day. If a unit goes over its allowance, we may charge you for the extra data.

9.6Who can see your cameras. You and your app users can. We, our installer and the monitoring centre may view live video and recordings to set up, service and support the equipment and to respond to alarms. We may give footage to police or others where the law requires it or you ask us to.

9.7Your obligations. You decide where the cameras point and how you use the footage. You must:

9.8Your details. We use the contact details you give us to deliver the service. We share them with our installer and the monitoring centre for that purpose only.

10. Loss, damage and faults

10.1Theft and vandalism by outsiders. We bear the cost of repairing or replacing a unit that is stolen or damaged by an outsider, as long as you:

10.2An outsider is anyone other than you and your people. If you do not do the things listed in clause 10.1, clause 10.3 applies.

10.3Damage by you or your people. You pay for loss of or damage to the equipment caused by you or your people, whether accidental or deliberate. This includes damage by vehicles, plant, deliveries and works. It also includes damage that results from you or your people moving or interfering with a unit.

10.4What you pay under clause 10.3:

10.5If the cause is not clear, clause 10.3 applies unless the evidence shows an outsider caused it. If we do not agree on the cause, clause 14.3 applies.

10.6Weather and wear. Fair wear and tear and damage from storm, flood or lightning are ours, unless you or your people moved or interfered with the unit.

10.7Faults. If the equipment has a fault, tell us. We aim to attend within 3 business days and sooner where we can. We repair or swap the unit at no charge.

10.8Hire while a unit is out of service. Hire continues while a unit is being repaired or replaced, whatever the cause. We repair or replace it as soon as we reasonably can. This does not limit your rights under clause 11.1.

10.9While a unit is out of service, the area it covered is not protected. You should make other arrangements if you need cover in that time.

11. Limits on our liability

11.1Your legal rights. Nothing in these terms removes or limits a right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that cannot be removed or limited by agreement.

11.2Where the law lets us limit what we must do if we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. For goods, it is limited to repairing or replacing them or paying that cost.

11.3What we are not liable for. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that results from any of the following, except to the extent we caused it by our negligence or by breaching these terms:

11.4No indirect loss. Neither of us is liable to the other for loss of profit, loss of revenue, delay costs, penalties under another contract or other indirect loss.

11.5Cap. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims connected with a site is limited to the total hire fees you have paid us for that site. This cap does not apply to personal injury, death or physical damage to property directly caused by our negligence.

11.6Your responsibility. You are responsible for loss we suffer, including a claim made against us by someone else, to the extent it is caused by your breach of these terms, your negligence or the way you or your people use the cameras or footage.

11.7Each of us must take reasonable steps to reduce our own loss. The liability of each of us is reduced to the extent the other caused or contributed to the loss.

11.8Our insurance. We hold public and products liability insurance. A certificate of currency is available on request.

12. Suspending or ending the hire

12.1You may end the hire of a unit under clause 4.4.

12.2Either of us may end the hire for a site by written notice if the other:

12.3Non-payment. If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after we suspend services under clause 5.9, we may end the hire by written notice and remove the equipment.

12.4We may end the hire, or remove a unit, straight away by written notice if:

12.5After the minimum hire, we may end the hire of a unit for any reason by giving you 7 days' written notice.

12.6When the hire ends:

12.7If we cannot get access to remove the equipment within 14 days of asking, you must pay its replacement value in the Schedule. We refund that amount, less our reasonable costs, if we later recover the equipment in working order. Hire stops once the replacement value is paid.

13. Ownership of the equipment

13.1The equipment is ours at all times. It does not become part of the land or a fixture, however it is installed.

13.2You must not sell, lend, sublet, charge or part with the equipment, take it off the site or remove our labels.

13.3We and our installer may enter the site at reasonable times, following your site rules, to inspect, service or remove the equipment.

13.4If a hire could run for more than two years, we may register our interest in the equipment on the Personal Property Securities Register. You agree to do what we reasonably ask to help us register. To the extent the law allows, you give up your right to receive notices under the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth).

14. Changes, complaints and general

14.1Changes to these terms. We may change these terms by giving you at least 30 days' written notice. A change does not affect prices fixed under clause 5.10. If you do not accept a change, you may end the hire before it starts without any early ending charge.

14.2Complaints. Email admin@sitecamsecurity.com.au or call 1300 637 299. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 2 business days and resolve it within 5 business days.

14.3Disputes. If a complaint is not resolved under clause 14.2, a director from each side will meet, in person or by phone, within 10 business days to try to settle it. If that fails, we both agree to try mediation before going to court and to share the mediator's cost equally. This does not stop either of us seeking urgent court orders or recovering an unpaid invoice that is not in dispute.

14.4Events outside our control. Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by something beyond our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, network outages or supply delays. This does not excuse payment of money owing.

14.5Notices. Notices must be in writing and sent by email: to us at admin@sitecamsecurity.com.au and to you at the address in the proposal.

14.6Transfer. We may use subcontractors as set out in clause 3. Neither of us may transfer this agreement without the other's written consent, which must not be unreasonably withheld.

14.7The agreement. The proposal, these terms with the Schedule and your booking details make up the agreement for the site.

14.8If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

14.9Law. The law of Victoria applies and disputes are heard in Victorian courts.
